Colleen Hoover is definitely one of my favorite authors and of the few who i have read almost every book of. I genuinely believe she is incapable of writing a bad book and that is exactly what prompted this post. So, here is a guide of my favorite books of hers that tells you when you should reach each one and what it will make you feel.
It ends with us: This book is an absolute emotional roller coaster that is perfect for when you need a good crying session. It's the most amazing blend of wholesome and sweet along with heart wrenching and serious. Also deals with some serious issues very well and realistically.
Maybe someday: If you love music you NEED to read this book. The first book is again very conducive to crying (a recurring theme in CoHo's books) and is incredibly mature and well written. It doesn't have that ridiculous 'miscommunication' and 'misunderstanding' issues that we all hate. It's perfectly complemented by the second book where you fall even more in love with the whole friend group and watch them heal and grow.
Slammed: This book is unlike anything I've read before. If writing means anything to you and you use words as a form of self-expression you will absolutely LOVE slammed. If you enjoy friendships, family and healing this is perfect; it is so much more than just a romance.
All your perfects: This once again deals with a sensitive issue and portrays it in its rawest form. Be very prepared to be mentally exhausted in the best way possible after reading this. It is NOT a light read but i cannot think of very few books that portrayed unconditional love better than this one.
Hopeless: The most amazing mixture of romance and mystery; not only was it an amazing love story it also had a fantastic plot. If you want a high school book but also something that will make an impact and make you FEEL this is the perect read. (look up TW before)
Verity: This book is genuinely indescribable because to this day I still cannot categorize it. It will actually scramble your mind and make you kind of question Colleen's sanity. It's a psychological thriller and the perfect book when youre in a reading slump.
Heartbones: This is the read for when you're in a vacation mood and in need of something lighter but also gripping and interesting. It was incredibly fun to read and the twist in the end just made it even better than it already was.
Ugly Love: This book is perfectly titled as it showcases love in all its forms. If you like the past and present perspectives you will love this even more. It is beautifully heartbreaking and definitely the kind of book you will remember well after you read it. (Takes brother's best friend to a whole other level)
November 9: This is the book to read if you want a completely unconventional romance with a seriously incredible plot and unheard-of premise. If you like the sweeter wholesome protective guys you will love this book. Also the end is actually so so so so mind-blowing. You need to read it just to see the genius Colleen Hoover is.
This list doesn't include all of her books and some of the novellas but I think all are definitely worth reading!
